DNC to Provide ICD-10 Expertise to the Indian Health Service (IHS)

January 2012 - DNC will provide the IHS expertise and technical support in the implementation of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, 10th Revision (known as "ICD-10") for the coding of diseases, signs and symptoms, abnormal findings, complaints, social circumstances, and external causes of injury or diseases. This change will have substantial impact to IHS’ Resource Patient Management System (RPMS) and to the workflow of providers, coders, billers, revenue cycle, reimbursements, and local and national reporting requirements. Under this task, DNC will provide support services to implement ICD-10 to include: ICD-10 Project Management; business analysis; requirements management; create ICD-10 awareness; impact assessments; assess payor readiness; and provide training.
